Before we begin, I would like to point out that this is my first contribution to this Wikia, and I surely hope you enjoy, and keep in mind, everything you are about to read has not, and never will become a reality. This epic tale goes through tha nation of Putlantis, a small minor island in the Carribean. Starting off from the dreams of a billionare, one man raised a nation from a private island to a global superpower; a nation that would stand the test of time and last for millenium to come. This is the story of Putlantis, from the nations birth, to it's recognition, and to global domination, this novel explores the history of what was thought a minor joke of a country. The image below shows the nations size (in red) at its birth.
1. The "Golden King"Edit
The founder of the empire, The Golden King had a dream, and through wealth, charisma and force was able to execute his ambitions and turn them into a reality. Of course, none of this would come to fruition without the luxourious lifestyle the king lived as a child.
From birth (June 6, 2016), Lukas Putney lived in the lap of luxary. Born to multibillionares Christine and William Putney, owners of the international corporation known as Putney Consolidated, Lukas had not had to work very hard for what he wanted. Born outside of Chicago, Illinois in the United States, Lukas enjoyed having vast ammounts of money. However this luxorious lifestyle as a child with would go a long way with Putlantis' future founder.
As a child, Lukas had seemed to advanced faster than the other children of his age. Being the first to walk, talk and hold conversation, parents around the neighborhood soon realized that Lukas was not only a quick learner, but also seemed to be intellectually gifted. At the age of 7, Lukas was able to completely perform tripple digit multiplication, speak fluently in not only English but Spanish and French, and was learning how American stock and economics worked. Lukas' advanced education helped him advance through grade school, seeing him enter secondary education two years before others, at the age of 11.
b. Teenage YearsEdit
As Lukas grew through childhood and into his teenage years, he developed a high interest in government, politics, war history and war strategy. Participating in speech and debate for his school, Lukas competed in nationals three years in a row, and brought home the first place award twice, and second once, losing only to his future political rival, Jacob Stevens.
Lukas' knack for education and learning also helped him take the reigns of a portion of Putney Consolidated. At the age of 15 and with the help (and pressure) of his parents, Lukas began to work for his parents company, learning the ropes and quickly climbing the ranks to the Chicago City Manager. By the age of 17, Lukas had earned himself nearly $150,000 per year from his new job. This income would quickly climb, helping Lukas spread his family's business to knew cities, states, and eventually countries.
c. Young AdulthoodEdit
After graduating high school and attending Yale University for a politcal science degree, Lukas saw the time to enter into the field of American politics. After winning various local elections in Chicago for City Council positions, Lukas decided to cast his eyes on a bigger sight, the Mayor of Chicago. After sweeping the polls with his campaign slogan "Clean up the Streets, Clean up the Crime", Lukas was sucessfully enstalled as mayor, while continuing to help run his parent's business.
After being re-elected for mayor twice, Lukas cast his eyes on the national stage. running for Representative of Illinois as the Democratic candidate, Lukas saw his popularity soar immensly. Pouring thousands into foster homes, enviornmental agencies, and various charities, Lukas was able to sweep the polls, attracting votes from both republican and democratic voters.
After serving in the House for two years, expanding the family business to European nations, and passing various bills such as the Right to Marry Act (2046), which gave civilians the right to marry regardless of sexual orientation and Patriot repeals Act (2040), which repealed the Patriot Act (2001), and dismantled the NSA, Lukas decided to run for the executive office. Announceing his Presidency campaign at the age of 45 (August 10, 2061) Lukas had three years to prepare for the next election. In these years Lukas visited third world countries to help with food drives, helped releif efforts during infamous Hurricane Lola, and again poured massive ammounts of money into charities.
During the election of 2064, Lukas was up against childhood rival Jacob Stevens, who was running on the Republican ticket. Just two months before booths opened for elections, Lukas' approval rating was one of the highest in history, at a staggering 97.6%. At the rate Lukas was attracting votes, it was clear that he would win elections and the Presidency.
Unfortunately, a month before the voting booths opened, both Christine and William Putney passed away as their private jet crashed over the Atlantic Ocean during a horendous storm. The death of both of his parents cast Lukas into a world of depression. He soon withdrawled from the campaign, causing Jacon Stevens to run unoppossed.
Lukas, in an attempt to avoid the media and citizen anger from his withdrawl, sold Putney Consolidated to his board of directors, and poured his wealth into a private island to reside on. the island was located in the Carribean, was about half the size of the state of Rhode Island, and was about 100 miles off the coast of Florida.
e. Life After Politics
As Lukas aged on, he eventually settled down, making trips to and from mainland USA for social calls and sight seeing. At the age of 47, Lukas met his wife, Charlotte Penny, whom he had twins with, a boy and girl named James and Joy respectfully.
After settling down with his family, they had moved permanately to the private island, to which Lukas had nicknamed "Putlantis", for his facination with the ocean, and symbolizing the underwater metropolis of Atlantis.
Missing his life in the political world, Lukas and his family set up their own country as a game, where they pretended to enact laws (house rules) by voting them in, trading for goods, (example, one hour of chores earns you one hour of time on the phone), and designing their own flag. Never did any of the family members ever think that their once fictional land would become a reality.
f. Birth of a NationEdit
Wanting to bring more life to the island of Putlantis, Lukas began to offer money to distant relatives who would move to the location. As the population of the island grew from 4 to 40 virtually overnight, Lukas was tasked with hiring a build team to contrust houses for the new members of his community.
After settling down, other members of the community began to bring more ideas to the town. Entreprenuers, doctors, police, firemen, and farmers all began to develop the necessities of a growing town. Within months, Putlantis saw a fully sunctional hospital, fire station, police station, and even two new fastfood chains.
The abundant growth of the community soon caught the media's eye, dubbing Putlantis "The next state to enter the Union". This staement naturally angered the residents of Putlantis, as they were living on a "private" island and had established their community single handedly.
Hoping to show the American government that Putlantis was not and would not be a state, the residents came together to form a community government. Electing Lukas as the unoppossed mayor saw the first government leader in Putlantis.
At the age of 61, Lukas had begun formulating a currency for the community to use, known later as the Putt. The putt was then distributed around the community, one Putt for every one USD.
As Lukas aged into his 70's, he renamed the continuingly growing city Charlotte, in honor of his wife. Two more cities began to form on opposite sides of the island, which were later named after Lukas' children. At the age of 75, Lukas made a global statement, declaring Putlantis its own "...independant and free nation, with her own economy, and borders. Putlantis will be recognized as a soverign nation, and will not be threatened by any other foreign nation large or small..." (2091). At this remark, the globe laughed at the growing community of Putlantis, but in just two years, it became recognized as a nation in both the UN and nations across the globe.
Lukas was chosen to be monarch of the nation until death, setting up a parlimentary monarchy, where there would be a king, with a bipartisan congress to vote on and pass laws with the monarchs approval. A Constitution much like that of the United States was drafted, with a Bill of Rights attached and universal rights for all. Upon the monarch's death, it was decided that the next monarch would be voted in by the people, who would then rule until death.
Lukas Putney became known as Lukas I (2016-2105), known forever in Putlantian history as "The Golden King", until he passed at the age of 89, on May 27, 2105. Lukas had officially paved the way for a global empire to rise from one man's ambitions.
2. The Growth of A NationEdit
After the passing of Lukas I, the community was in utter shock. However, no detriment was done to the nation, as order , government, and an economy had already been established. The people were now tasked with voting on a new king, a king who would officially set the stability of the government in stone for the nation of Putlantis. The 200,000 man strong nation unanimously elected Lukas' son, James Putney who was 42 at the time, into power as the monarch, who would then be known as Lukas I (2105-2156).
