The thing that is in the sky isn't all that noticeable, (in a way), it's just... It's a somewhat slight change in the color of the sky. It only lasts around 5 seconds or so (I figured astronomer's were the most likely to see it, but only those not using telescopes, as telescopes would usually be zoomed into something a lot father away then the atmosphere, making the glow invisible).

In the case of Takashi, if he delayed like that, I'm not sure if it would still be there by the time he came. Besides, he might not notice it if he just glances at the sky. That part might be better if it were about his wife's reaction and not his.

I don't think anyone would really curse at seeing it, it's just a color. I was thinking they would respond like it was a pretty sunset or something...

Times: if 1A.M. in London (I don't know why I chose to go by London time, really it should be based off of some Astrological thing): 10AM in Japan, 8PM in Minnesota, 10Pm in Brazil.

So the Brazil one might just be the mother up late at night looking at the sky or something (I don't think many mother's would let a child play in the mud late at night). [the only reason I wanted to change that one is cause I don't like curses very much]

I found Google maps a good place to find spots for this. And it and Wikipedia can be useful for names of places (all of Japan is named in Japanese lettering on Google). --from Modred. (speak to) 03:38, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Okay, regarding Takashi, what about what I wrote? And sorry for overlooking the year. And, I knew about the surname first rule.

About the time differences, you won't believe it, but I kinda mixed them around. (I thought it was morning in Brazil and night in Japan).

And in Brazil, when the mother stated "Shiit", it wasn't because she was angry or something, only kind of surprised or astonished. But, anyway, since you don't like curses (I personally have no problem with them, if they are used to denote a character or, like in this case, a slightly humorous purpose), I suppose I could change it to an "Oh my God!". --Nonimportant 16:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Also, almost forgot one thing. You invented that quote or took it from somewhere? Because if it is the latter, you should put the name of the person that said it. --Nonimportant 16:52, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

I invented the qoute. If I ever make one I didn't invent I'll put the source down (a quote is twice better if said only in fiction). But it is similar to some things the Bene Gesserit say in the Dune series, but it's not the same. It's just the same sort of idea.

There's nothing wrong with Takashi. It just seemed odd to me that an astrological event would cause such interest. But I guess your right. People put more stock in celestial stuff then I normally think (like sunsets and falling stars and eclipses and all that). I was just making note of the first name rule (I never remember what it is, I just remember that they order the names a certain way, had to look it up)

I theoretically have always agreed that curses could be okay if only used by a character (something they say or think), but I've never used them yet. They could give Ms. Silva a special personality I suppose. --from Modred. (speak to) 17:39, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure if having Constantine's first entry be so long is a good idea; I might get rid of some of the paragraphs in it.

But all that stuff will still happen to him sometime. But it could just as easily happen on any other day (it's hardly important that his disdain of Sherlock Holmes behavior should come out immediately upon him being introduced). I don't think the way Constantine finds the cup is laid out well right now. It might end up changing before this episode's done.

On another note: More psychics will be necessary. Thousands of people gained the ability to feel emotions from certain objects, I would like to show that there are a lot of people out there who experience similar things to what Constantine is going through. That's why I added Lindsay in between Constantine and Takashi (plus he'll be useful later)

But try to keep them... shorter then I made Constantine's. I didn't mean to make it that long. It takes away from the feeling of event after event after event, which I don't like. I wanted this to flow from one event to another smoothly and continuously, describing each only shortly. But maybe that won't work after all. But anyway, these entries should mostly be short(ish), maybe just have them be excerpts, instead of entire letters or journal entries. --from Modred. (speak to) 04:40, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Rules of the game[]

Spoiler Warning! Due to a rather slight problem in the recording of Lindsay (which doesn't even require fixing, it's just slightly unusual) I have decided that I need to define now what Objects, Psychics and Sites are, and how they work (from the point of view of the characters, not in any way attempting to explain how they do this, as that is complicated and non-important)

To state this in a way to make perfect sense, I will list the Four Things, even though only the last three are really important right now.

  • The Event was the time at which all Objects, Psychics, and Sites were created, that is; the time at which they gained their strange properties.
  • Objects of the first generation; that is, all objects right now (though there will later be exceptiongs), only effect the emotions of "Psychics". They can have any range of emotional effects, but it is true that they are at least semi-constant, most will always give out the same emotion, some might cause an emotion such as irritability (which would cause Anger when other people come around.).
  • Psychics are people who were effected by the event. There are thousands of them all around the world. When one psychic spots another, they often experience an unusual emotion which they will usually come to call Familiarity, but which is really an emotion different from that, it is an emotion that human beings do not normally experience; it is apparently unique to psychics, and furthur to only this one event. This feeling comes to be called Deja Vu by Psychics (for the sole purpose of confusing listeners, so that only psychics will realize what they mean).
  • A Site is a place which is essentially similar to an Object, it causes an emotionally reaction to anyone within it. Essentially a Site can be defined as a large Object, though there are differences between the two. However, there are no large Objects.

Combiations:

  • if two or more objects are near each other, then the emotional effects of each object is more intense upon each person which it effects.
  • if an object is brought to a Site, the emotional effect of the Object is increased. Though not as much as if there were more Objects in the area. The effect of the Site is not increased.
  • a large grouping of Psychics does not cause any increase in Deja Vu, or any other notable effects.

Also; Deja Vu is only a short term effect which happens at first. It doesn't really happen every time two people meet if they've already experienced it with each other (thuogh they will sense each others presence, it won't be very noticable)

Lindsay: The thing that I spotted was this: for the student to know about the cane, and for Lindsay to feel it to, they would Both have to be Psychics, which is highly unlikely that they would both meet. They would experience Deja Vu the first time they see each other after The Event. This would not go unnoticed by them, as noted previously, the feeling is extremely unique and not like normal familiarity. But it's not neccisarily likely that the student would tell his teacher about the feeling (teacher/student attitudes were very strict back then), the student would probably have felt that his teacher would think him insane if he told him about it. Or punish him for the foolish game he tried to play. That is totally regardless of how Lindsay would really respond.

I would also like to ask (as a more personal note) for it to be another object... or maybe just called something else? Like calling it a rod or something... I was planning on Constantine finding a Cane in the next Episode he is featured in. But if not then I can change my cane then; which would be fine. --from Modred. (speak to) 22:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I see. The way you talked about earlier, I had the impression that everyone was somewhat affected by an Object, but a "psychic" was even more affected (I later would add another note with Lindsay explaining that he was the only one that felt compelled to touch the Cane (That I changed to Walking Stick, hope it's good enough like that)).

Also, in case you're wondering, the Walking Stick is not like the cards of Anger, since the person does not feel angry while touching it, but actually feels like hurting whoever they see or hear. A completely inhuman feeling (To emphasize the strangeness of the Objects). The absence of a Deja Vu feeling could be explained easily: It has been more than a year since Lindsay, and probably L, saw the Event, and, being a professor and student, they have met before then.

Also, I forgot to mention, but I'm not sure if they had school in january first, at the time, so maybe the date should be changed. But if it is changed, it must be before january 22, but not too much, or the "Long life to her" comment wouldn't have the same significance. --Nonimportant 01:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Kind-of...ish...er...

umm...

Objects will effect people, eventually, but not at first... they... become more powerful when something happens at some point (part of why the story starts in 1900). But it's complicated and I'm still not sure exactly how I want to go about describing it; but Constnatine will discover it sometime soon (not for a few episodes though). Sorry about the confusion.

Why do you think we should emphasize the strangness of the objects? --from Modred. (speak to) 01:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, whatever they are, they are not natural. So I thought about pointing that out. Of course, it's your story, so you can modify or undo any addition of mine, no hard feelings. --Nonimportant 10:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

It looks done to me... anyone think otherwise? --from Modred. (speak to) 23:36, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

TOC[]

I guess this place is as good as any...

Should it have a Table of Contents? I thought it would be nice for people who only read part of it and then come back later to read the rest (probaby cause I do that a lot). But the episodes are short so I suppose it isn't neccisary. But if that's done then the Qoute will have to be moved below the H2 heading. Otherwise it'll go unnoticed. I'll try it on episode 1, just to see what it looks like --from Modred. (speak to) 23:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

I suggest NOTOC if all the headers are --User:Serprex 00:52, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
