Fiction Wikia, the place where you can write fiction.

The Order of the Black Jewel is a secret society dedicated to the meticulous, clandestine spread of evil. Though many lower members believe it exists to further the financial position of its members. The Order is overseen by monks responsible for initiation and other ceremonies. Membership includes persons of great wealth and power from all over the world, controlling many lucritive organizations. The Order of the Black Jewel is subordinate to the greater, more secretive, smaller, Guild of the Crimison Tear.

[edit] History

[edit] First Age

The Order was founded in 1156 FA as a way for the Guild to gain more influence abroad but still guard their greatest secrets. At the head of the Order was the Grand Master, the first of which was Aeolus Kora, an experienced member of the Guild appointed to oversee a smooth establishment of the the Order. One of the first decrees from the Grand Master was of the basic organization of the Order. It operates as a network, sharing and exchanging information with orders ever descending from above. Membership swelled in its early years. The Order was seen as a club; all one had to do was pay lip service to some deities and in a few years you would gain immense wealth and influence. In 4822 when the Dark War began and many lands were invaded by legions of werewolves, vampires, and terrible beasts, a great number of members realized, to their horror, that they had helped to create the carnage around them. The Order, unfortunately, does not allow anyone to resign, as to further protect the vast secrets of the organization, any who tried or were thought to be planning to, were killed. This suspiscion led to an event known as the Internal Massacre, in which many of the order were killed simply because of accusations that they wished to resign. Many fled, some joining The Blue Monks, a rival organization. This process cleansed the Order of all but the most loyal or spinlessly subordinate and the reputation they had established saw that potential members were of the same type. Their role in the Coming of The Dragons in 6258 was played out willingly. A militant wing of the order was created: "Obsidian Knights of The Scarlet King and the Dark Cloud, Poisoned Sea and the Scortched Earth" also Called The Knights Obsidian.

[edit] Second Age

The Order was virtually destroyed at the end of the first age but remnants did survive in remote areas, continuing their ceremonies and plotting their return under command of Mordin, lich sorcerer, and last surviving member of the Guild of the Crimson Tear.
