Bushis and the... is a strand of folklore which demonstrates the foolish bravery of Bushis.

[edit] Bushis and the Deity of Strength
Bushis was once taken by the mallet Orsinius wielded, and wished to simply swing it a single time. Orsinius refused to let Bushis wield the mallet, and so Bushis challenged Orsinius to a duel. When Bushis went to take a sword he could not wield, Orsinius pleaded they stop, and handed Bushis the mallet. Bushis grinned, and went to take the mallet. However, Bushis found the mallet was too heavy for him, and had to forget about his yearning to wield it, to the laughter of Orsinius.
[edit] Bushis and the Bottle
Bushis was once within the realm of Hedonia, and went to fetch a bottle of wine. To his frustration, the bottle's cork could not be pulled out. Hedonia laughed at his ignorance, and decided to not lend him the corkscrew. Eventually, Bushis smashed the bottle into a bowl to be drank from. The bowl, however, was surrounded by broken glass while containing some also, so that Hedonia refused to go near it, nor drink from it. Bushis, however, decided to fear not the glass and so left drunk and bloody.
[edit] Bushis and the Blood Owl
Bushis traveled to the region of Netopyrus under the conviction that he would slay the Zombie Dragon in show of his strength after Drake spoke of his prized Zombie Dragon. However, while traversing the dense Deadwood, Bushis came across a blood owl. The owl laughed at Bushis, who planned to face the Zombie Dragon bare handed. Bushis, enraged by the attack upon his virtue of strength, struck out at the owl. The owl flew away, laughing. Bushis, still enraged, struck out at the rotting tree the owl had perched upon, and was crushed by the tree.
[edit] Bushis and the Mortal
Bushis, agast by the cowardice of the mortals, decided that he would prove his bravery to the Deities by becoming a mortal for a period of time. During this time, he planned to show his bravery by killing a wurm. However, he decided to spend his first day in a pub to celebrate his coming deed. After having a few drinks, Bushis found himself in a fight. After being beaten to a bloody slur, Bushis was incapable of leaving the town for the period of his mortality.
