N/History/Outline
Fiction Wikia, the place where you can write fiction.
This is probably going to be just a temporary page (and by temporary I mean a few months), at least until we get the history pages filled up and in order. This is going to be a brief outline that will enable us to be better coordinated in our making of the individual history pages (which is all the more important given that some people won't have time to read everything and because there are currently quite a few pages that contradict others).
Below I have outlined the major concepts I'm planning on using, though some parts are still undecided (so see below). I would like to have those problems solved quickly by consensus with at least one other person working on the project, then I'll go ahead and consolidate it into a "skeleton" history from which we can write our articles.
For ideas, you may want to have N/History/Rulers and N/History/Technology opened at the same time.
If you have any ideas, please place them here!

[edit] Tenets
- Basically, each one of these sections listed below should have their own "themes".
- I intentially chose a small population of humans so that the Midworld human population will be more manageable.
[edit] Cataclysmic Events
Some cataclysmic events we could use if we needed to:
- With the discovery of magic, magia-phobia causes society to fall apart (I really like this one, and I plan to use it.)
- Atlantis/Diluvial scenario
- Invasion by the Serdians (can't count how many we have right now)
- A plague during the Dark Ages, or spelling the end of the Golden Ages
- At the end of the Golden Ages, alternate event is to have some progressive change in worldview by the peoples, something along the lines of enlightenment/inspiration/awakening
- Synath War
- Some other natural disaster(perhaps some planar imbalance strikes?)
[edit] Chaos of the Gods
- The Great Winter has to come here, some time before Eternity's End but after Nature's entrapment.
- Mythic/Cosmic
- In the second half of this period of time, humanity is 'born'.
[edit] Eternity's End
- Era begins by the forging of the dragons
- Barbarian, civilization just developing
- Ends at 0 BD.
- Humanity has by this time developed to ancient-times cultures and societies, with beginning division of labor.
- Population within the Union of Five Tribes is around 2000 constant.
[edit] Dawn of Ages
- Era begins by the rise of A Horador to the throne of his portion of the Union of Five.
- "Birth of Civilization" with additional division of labor.
- Begins at 1 AD.
- Maybe should be considered a sub-era of the Classical Age.
- Population begins to climb. By end of the 25 years it's around 2200.
[edit] Classical Age
- Era begins with the crowning of the fourth Horador as king, and by the reuniting of the Union of Five.
- "Age of Kings" with monarchical dynasties esp. Horador.
- Also includes the First Empire , 453 AD to 589 AD.
- Begins at 25 AD.
- Population climbs even more. During this time, the Union is expanding outward and pushing back other races. Population goes from 2200 to 4000-5000.
- None of these kings and their exploits need to be discussed in great detail
- Integration concept: attach all the floating non-coordinated "deeds" and "achievements" done by kings/leaders to one or more of these kings.
- At the end of this age there are a string of emperors who died every three years.
[edit] Dark Ages
- Era begins with the coming of the dragons
- Ending point undetermined, so theme is undetermined too as of now.
- The Dark Ages sees the discovery of magic. Some time shortly after 1210 AD (the first spells), there has to be a falling-apart of society due to the terror of non-spellcasters of being killed by spells, etc. The revival has to be gradual and done by creating charms that prevent the most basic spells from harming people, done for individual spells over decades.
- Begins at 589 AD with rule by the dragons.
- Fall of the dragons during the Second Empire.
- Followed by Third Empire (evolved from the Second Empire) 662 AD (those years known as the times of Reconstruction).
- The Fiend Wars. We need to add more "fiends" and more fiend wars.
- Should end some time around 800-1000 AD, but undetermined. Would need some cataclysmic events.
- Population falls early on and then slowly climbs. At start, around 4500; when the dragons have fallen this is at 3500; at end of dark ages, should have approached 8000-10,000.
- 1169: even before the first spells were devised, some elites knew what was about to happen, and fought for magically strategic regions. 1210: the first spells were cast, and now the battles get really magical. 1329: the Horadrim bring back peace by uniting the mage clans. We'd need to have the Horadrim forming around 50 years prior to that.
[edit] Middle Ages
- Starts in 1329 with the end of the mage clan wars; humanity united under Arkanros.
- 1409: Duran the Great unifies Armidia and calls it the Armidion Empire.
- Planned, but specifics undecided
- Themed romantic/medieval
- Population goes from 8000-10,000 to 11,000-13,000.
[edit] High Middle Ages
- Population goes from 11,000-13,000 to 15,000-18,000.
- Alternate name: Silver Age (I made that one up, don't bother checking Wikipedia)
- Starts around 1420-1430 AD, this being the discovery and first uses of Runic Scriptase and Runic Dictationase (important for battle magic).
- The High Middle Ages are particularly instable, with various political transformations.
- 1461: the Duran dynasty collapses, the the Armidion Empire falls into chaos as Geugaw.
- 1464: Karabala declares independence from Arkanros, under Queen Karabala I, forming the first matriarchy.
- 1490: Armidion Republic established to return peace to Geugaw, under Tribune Aeon. First republic.
- 1497: Netopyrus declares independence under Queen Lilo, first human empire not ruled by a human.
[edit] Golden Age
- Planned, but specifics undecided
- Continuing and increasing change keeps the political situation destabilized, with transition from monarchies and republics toward democracies.
- Romantic theme: baroque-like and rococo-like. OR: transcendentalist-like.
- Scheduled as a bursting of magic.
- If we keep the Modern Age, then we'd need some half-cataclysmic event to end this era.
- Population goes from 15,000-18,000 to 24,000-28,000 (including modern age). Then this pop. is what we'd end up with.
- Starts around 1516 AD, that being the first uses of item enchantments (very important in fantasy!).
- 1533: The Grey Crusade, launched by King Horadrim XIV, slays Queen Lilu and its leading paladin, Mandator Inquisix, holds a mandate on the protectorate of Netopyrus.
- 1560: The ruling dynasty of Arkanros agrees to remove the monarchy and establish a democracy. Horadrim XV becomes the first President.
- 1580: The Armidion Republic is formally and peacefully dissolved to be replaced by a democracy under Grand Senator Anochus.
- 1588: Serdia establishes trade with the human kingdoms for the first time under Cerebrate Tiamat.
- 1597: Queen Karabala VI is overthrown and a democracy is established under Prime Minister Endrin.
[edit] Modern Age
- Should this be its own and be 1500 AD and after, or should we throw this out and have the Golden Age be 1500 AD and after?
- Or should this be 1600 AD and after/1580 AD and after?
- If we keep this, then it would be a continuation of the bursting of magic started in the Golden Age.
[edit] End of the Chronology
- Chronology should end at around 1606 AD to retain balance and the aura of magic as opposed to industry.
- By the end of the chronology, Arkanros, Karabala, and Gallorum are democracies, while Netopyrus is a protectorate of Arkanros increasingly seeking independence, and Serdia isn't controlled by humans but is under empathic control by a Cerebrate.
