The earliest pantheon consisted of Jupiter, Mars, and Quirinus--the Archaic Triad. To each, a priest known as a flamens and later as flamena. These three priests are the highest on the hierarchy of the priesthood. Later was formed the Capitoline Triad, featuring Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva (not used here). There are 15 flamens total.
The Roman gods are attributed with little individuality and aren't considered to function in the same way as humans. Each is known for its role in life, not for participation in epics. On Lorica, they took up an even more critical function of the religion, which was to give the peoples a sense of protection from danger, and familiarity with the new world.
Roman temples often are round and supported by columns, known as a templum.
