[edit] Death of the Heirs

  • 39: Enraged, Altexa attacked the barbarians after once again raising an army. She chose the Purity tribe, which had not joined any alliances, and won, thereby pushing the barbarians back. When she returned to the ziggurat of the Union (the capitol building), she was lauded by the citizens.
  • 38: The barbarians were not willing to let her victory remain. They regrouped, rebuilt their armies, and attacked (by the Purity, Health, and Wealth tribes). Altexa and Ipsum allied once again, and as their strategy was to team up against the already weakened Purity tribe, they crushed the Purity invaders, forcing them to give still more concessions. Meanwhile, Altexa and Ipsum allowed the leaders of the other two invading tribes to retreat peacefully if they were to not support their fallen ally.
  • 37: Ipsum unilaterally renewed his belligerence against the Purity tribe, destroying their central power and absorbing their lands into the Union (something that worried the other tribe leaders). Thus, the Purity tribe no longer existed.
  • 36: The other tribes formed yet another alliance, but they had a heated debate which caused them for form actually two alliances: one among the Wealth, Health, Devotion, and Energy tribes; and the other among the War, Ghoul, Force, and Vigor tribes. They invaded the Union from two points within a month's separation. Altexa and Ipsum were both ready, but after a devastating battle, withdrew and gave ground to the enemies. Subsequently, the two barbarian alliances came to occupy the lands. Altexa and Ipsum meanwhile settled for a truce.
  • 35-33: The two contending barbarian factions bickered over who would gain the territory that the Union had ceded. They burst into warfare against each other, destroying their own fighting abilities.
  • 33: Altexa and Ipsum, seizing the chance to win, struck at the Health tribe and forced those invaders to withdraw. But in the battle, both Altexa and Ipsum were slain. In the dispute that followed, their children Ionica of Reason and Dolor of Language became the next round of contenders for the throne.
