Yergal is a type of hardwood grown and harvested in the forests of Nicetheen, Arkanros. The wood is ideal for building solid structures, such as forts and bridges. As such, yergal is a strategically important resource, placing the encaselet of Nicetheen in an economically prosperous position. As yergal is cumbersome to transport, requiring specially built carts, the yergal trade is unhindered by the Bernchor bandits, who specialise in small, easily transproted goods such as coins, spices, and jewels.

Yergal is also difficult to cut and burn. Because cutting Yergal dulls a blade however, fires are set around the tree until it is darkened. It is at this point that the burnt layer is cut and another layer is burned. Yergals live for many years but grow slowly, leading to dense rings. They are also very small, as their strength is conserved into making quality wood, not quantity wood.
