Yale Shrubs are small brown bushes found in the Scrub Hills of the Wastelands. They are in fact the most common specie of flora in that region. In addition, they can be found in the High Wastelands. Their frequency of occurrence is due to their ability to survive long periods of time without water and their ability to withstand cold, both of which are natural elements in the Wastelands.

They also have strong branches, which the Warkuni and Pan'touk use to make baskets and tools.

With the extermination efforts against the Bloodthorns, the Yale Shrubs have also begun to disappear from the regions of the Wastelands closest to civilization, leading experts, especially the ecological conservists, to conclude that the two types of flora go hand in hand. In fact, this may be the one reason why none of the extermination efforts have been allowed to proceed longer than a few weeks. Botanists believe this is because Yale Shrubs and Bloodthorns are actually the same type of plant, simply that one is a male plant and the other a female plant.
