Wheat is the mainstay of human culture throughout much of the Midworld. Every village has a windmill, and various other places have them as well, throughout the farms where wheat is cultivated. It does not have too demanding requirements for survival and growth as far as arable land, climate, and precipitation are concerned. Villagers grind the wheat through a hopper in the windmills, which comes out as flour into the pots that the villagers use so often in preparing food. Then the villagers mix the flour with water to form dough before baking on a cooking range. Bread is cut into loaves both horizontally and vertically, providing two distinct styles which are used rather interchangeably.
