A Quafirr is a small harry orange or yellow colored tarantula-like spider, and it's bite carries a deadly poison. Quafirr live in wooded areas, though the White Quafirr live in desert terrain.

When a person dies of a Quafirr's bite, the body turns into young Lofill, when a Lofil eats it turns the matter into Quafirr eggs, which it burries and which will eventually hatch into young Quafirr.

[edit] Old Quafirr

A Quafirr can only succesfully use it's poison once in it's life, after using the poison it starts growing rapidly and eventually transforms into a Elder Quafirr, also known as a Giant Spider. Old Quafirr can live to be hundreds of years old, though they no longer have their deadly poison, they develop a neutralizing poison as they grow older. However, most Quafirr do not live long after injecting their poison into someone and thus Giant Spiders are very rare, even though Quafirr are not.

A Quafirr is born bright yellow, but as it ages it becomes darker and eventually becomes Orange, this darkening continues as it grows older, and by the time it reaches the stage of being a Old Quafirr it will likely have become black. No one knows what this coloration signifies, though it is thought that they may be born with a high level of their iron oxidized and as they age their body deoxidizes the iron. This would also support why they become harder as they blacken.
