A "Mist Monster" is a shapechanging fog-like wet cloud of varying colors, it can form into any sort of creature at will, though it is not believed to be capable of staying in any other then it's true form for longer then a couple hours. Mist Monsters seem completely invulnerable in their natural form, they act just as any cloud does when in the form, though they are easily discernable from natural fog, being multi-colored (the exact coloration changes over time, though something akin to a rainbow pattern is common).

Mist Monsters are reportedly able to transform into anything from Ancient Lofill to Seagulls, they appear to be able to become anything of any size or shape, the limits of their powers are realitively unknown to the world.

Mist Monsters vary in attitude greatly, though they are usually indifferent to human presence or action. What exactly they sustain themselves on is unknown. Mist Monsters seem to be afraid of fire, it cannot be said whether this fear has a basis (whether the fire harms them) or not, but they do avoid coming near it.

The name Mist Monster was invented when a ship was attacked by a Mist Monster, three of the crew were killed by the monster before they managed to scare it away with torches (a very dangerous work onboard a wooden ship with cloth sails.) This particular Mist Monster showed a definately malicous attitude towards humans, though why this one attacked a ship full of humans when they usually ignore humans completely has yet to be determined.

Mist Monsters have been seen turning into a solid crystal substance. They are believed to originate on Unicorn Island.
