A Golem is a rock homunculus, in other words a misshapen form composed from sheer rock. As such it is also called a rock elemental, though this term would be a misnomer because rocks are not elements. There are various types of golems due to the types of rock they were made from. However, they generally exist peacefully. In ancient times, they resided in the Crescent Mountains, but then were nearly eradicated. Nowadays they are rare indeed, and hold nearly no political power.

Golems bodies are not completely rock, their insides are indeed flesh. It is simply that their bodies produce a hard rock surface for protection. Therefore, golems require a large diet of mineral compounds. Their bodies adapt to this by having their flesh reconfigure rock into the suitable compound. Their bodies also use the moss which grows on them for photosynthesis, as their bodies must reconfigure the stone at times.
Golems are powerful and particularly hard to destroy. They are about 4 to 5 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide/thick, and as they are composed of rock they are incredibly hard to budge or injure. They are immune to most physical attacks. However, their composition is their greatest weakness. They cannot swim in water, and in such a condition they drown. Pushing them off a cliff could kill them as well, as can some types of arcanery.
They usually have very deep voices. Their language is mostly slower then human languages, most words in it are meant to be said slowly, though they can talk faster using other languages they learn, they will have an "accent" of slower talking.
Golems often live for several hundred years if supplied with proper conditions. Their memory is vast, it is seemingly impossible for a Golem to forget something. This is because they use a soft geode to store information, which is much more stable then flesh.
