Dragons are a family of reptiles which inhabit many regions of the Midworld. Originally created by Drake for the service of Lamoth, the dragon species has diversified significantly in the eras since. During the Chaos of the Gods, Drake created the Wurms to serve in Lamoth's Army. Lamoth was pleased with the Wurms and rewarded Drake well. In the years after Drake created many new breeds and as each was sent out into the world they came to multiply, change and find homes in every corner of the land.
The Doom Dragons, the most fearsome and destructive of Drakes creations were honed long in secret and released in 6258 CE, during the Coming of The Dragons. They proved to be very sucessfull and caused the Fall of Empires.
[edit] List of Dragon Species
- Black Wurm living above ground the black wurm, Drakes second creation, slithers like a snake relying on its sensitivity to vibrations and scent to find prey. Its rough black skin allows it to expose itself to the sun. Black Wurms are worm like in physique, and can grow to be longer than 6 metres.
- Doom Dragons The species involved in the Coming of The Dragons. Doom Dragons are gigantic, with their massive bodies stretch into an aerodynamic build of muscle and solid scales that spans more than 10 metres, their wingspan being 15 metres. Doom Dragons channel factons to drag them about, though not as well as Dragon Fiends do.
- Dragon Fiends The breed which guards the Abyss. Though rarely heard of, they are the most powerful of dragons, when they are not docile. Dragon Fiends are thought to be very round in build, with a scorched fur patched about their mutilated bodies. Their fat bodies can weight more than 5 metric tons. They fly by channeling factons into streams, which they are dragged by due to their planar field.
- Emerald Dragon Drake's third creation. Given legs and eyes, the Emerald Dragon can move very quickly across land. Emerald Dragons are only a a metre tall and near the same length when including tail span. Their light weight allows agile reflex and movement, their combat focuses more on targeting their foe's weak points after analysing them with their keen sight.
- Frost Dragon Created by Drake to assist in Lamoth's Arctic Campaigns. the Frost Dragon breathes powerful steam and has semi-functonal wings that span a metre each. Its build is similar to the Emerald Dragon, allowing it to glide for short periods. Frost Dragons' bodies are made from a compound much like ice, allowing their steam to be used medically for their wounds.
- Red Dragon Capable of flight and breathing fire, the Red Dragon was created shortly after the Frost Dragon. Red Dragons have larger stomachs than frost dragons, which harden near their combustion chamber. The chamber which creates flame requires the use of the dragon's oxygen, thus causing the dragon to become short of breath after use and forcing it to abort flight. Red Dragon wings are very fragile and bring fatigue after short flight, they measure a metre and half each.
- Sea Dragons One of the beasts which haunt the Mouth of Lamoth. The fourth creation of Drake, the Sea Dragon's fins paved the way for the develpement of winged dragons. Sea Dragons use the narrow build and length of Wurms to lower water resistence, their faces end sharply to cut through their medium of travel. They are a dark blue in color, which allows them to more easily sneak near their prey before lashing out with a great fury.
- Wurms The dragon which is most active within the world, Wurms haunt The Great Salt Flat. They were the first type of Dragon created by Drake. Though not as lethal as the others, Wurms are still a threat to any of the common races. Wurms are worm like in physique, growing to a length of 4 metres. Their only sense is that of feeling vibrations.
- Zombie Dragon A unique dragon who dwells within Deadwood. Its massive body, weighing over a metric ton, is tightly packed collage of rotting flesh and muscle, its tail is short while its neck is also stubby.
