The Southern cavern is a remote subterranean series of caves under Dingwalayo City. The cavern was discovered in 172 AD by Alfonse Humus, a great explorer of the time. A large portion of the cave was under water at this time but Alfonse managed to explore much of the western passage recording encounters with many creatures including, Manticore Spiders, Moon Snails, and Scary Crabs.

In 182 AD, King Horador XII had the cave excavated and constructed a aquaduct to remove the water. He used the cave as a hidden treasury for his heirlooms and wealth. As protection he had Dol Revenant place many spells over the cavern. Revenant created the Skeletal Gauntlet and many terrible creatures. Revenant put so much of his magic and will into the cavern that in death his spirit went there to rest for eternity. The factons which held its life together crystalized and became a Life Cradle. None could enter the cavern but a first born son of Horador blood. Unfortunatly the line all but vanished in the late 400's. However, in 1490 AD, the last remaining member of the line, Barlymoore Geneal, was found and, after a great adventure, he discovered the lost location of the cavern and entered to find the lost treasure. He then fashioned himself as Count Barlymoore of Vale and sought to reclaim the lost family tree.
