Shadowood is an expanse of very dense jungle and rain forest spanning much of the southwestern half of Netopyrus. The excessive humidity and rainfall is caused by the orographical front with the westerly winds. The landscape of Shadowood is grim indeed, and many adventurers into the place have fallen prey to the terrible creatures that lurk within. Notable species in Shadowood as currently reported are Death Flowers, which can bring paralysis at a touch; Blood Owls, which are a torment during the night; Werewolves; Vampires; and the less frightening Hyl. Most creatures, and all the gruesome ones, are nocturnal.
