N/Arcanery/God Mist

Fiction Wikia, the place where you can write fiction.

God Mist is a lethal biological weapon which is colorless, tasteless, and scentless in steam form, white in liquid form. God Mist was a large factor in the Third Age. It was introduced by the Ego in the Egon War, and would die with the race at the end of the Third Age when used throughout the land. A pact of secrecy was made among surivors who knew how to create it.

[edit] History

The substance known as God Mist is actually a highly concentrated form of the chemical "Alexylene Mortharsis". First concentrated in a remote laboratory in the Wastelands surrounding the Ego nation of Corinthius by the biologist Mo'Ol Orthal. The substance quickly spread around the black market before making its way to the corrupt heads of government to be used in silent assassinations of political rivals and protesting citizens of the Ego culture.

When the Ego revolted against their tyrannical government, the People's Army for Liberty raided a major supply laboratory and stole back gallons of the substance in its liquid form, pumping it into hijacked transport vehicles and taking it deep into the hills surrounding Corinthius.

After the raid, an increase of God Mist related terrorist attacks took place in cities across Corinthius, each increasing in mortatlity. Soon the Ego government began to limit the production in fear of raids restoring the Rebels' supply.

Once the Revolution was complete, and Corincius reached its golden age of prosperity, production of the concentrated form of Alexylene ceased. But a few decades later, a scouting expedition, known as the Baeliths, from the far-off sovereignty of The Five Kingdoms approached the border of Corinthius.

It was decided that The Five Kingdoms must have their own violent revolution in order to cleanse the corruption within. The Ego pledged their military support behind a War of Purification, forming the Ego/Baelith Alliance in CE 13747. In support of the attack on the Kingdoms, the Ego once again began concentrating Alexylene and producing more shipments of God Mist to be sent to the front lines.

[edit] Effects

Once one is exposed to God Mist, either through inhalation or direct contact of skin, the blood within the victim begins to sublimate, leaving a unique red mist which continually pours from the victim until all the blood within said victim has become steam. Anyone who comes into contact with the blood of the victim, whether in liquid or steam form then also becomes infected and experiences similar symptoms.

A cure must be taken through injection within seven minutes of contact and often an immidiete blood transplant is neccesary which makes recovery on an active battlefield near to impossible.
