Fiction Wikia, the place where you can write fiction.

Transformational spells are a class of spells that involve alteration of something into something else through the use of (often) complex spells and charms. The end product may look absolutely nothing like what the spellcaster started off with.

Autotransform involves changing oneself into something else.

Standard method for Auto-transform spells is as follows (note that all the rules for the more general class of spells, Transform, still apply):

  1. Declare the target of the spell (need to know the location), whether it be part of the self or the entire self.
  2. Decide on what you want to turn into what, and exactly how this transformation is going to take place
  3. If the transformation is supposed to be instantaneous and simple, then a few spells should be enough.
  4. If the transformation is supposed to be complex or over a period of time, then many spells and some chants will be necessary.

Transform is harder to cast on the self. If the spellcaster is attempting to change himself/herself into a bird, for example, then he/she must first develop a charm that will convert him/her back to the normal form when he/she does something in particular (such as get back to a certain place).

One general way of doing this is by creating a Demesne, where the spellcaster will return to original form just by getting there.
