[edit] Miniamancy (minia)

Demanding Obedience

  • "Do not obey me." - Classical veridical paradox used to unsummon a minion
  • Three giants armed with massive clubs pursued Ganesh from the forest. But he didn't have to run. With a powerful whistle, he called upon two scimitars from his scabbards--and they flew out into the air on their own, targeting the giants. The spellcaster directed their every motion and strike with flicks of his hand, while the clumsy giants could barely parry. One soon fell, and the other two hurriedly ran back into the darkness, hoping to keep on to dear life.

Miniamancy takes the concept of Imagimancy further with the creation of beings that can understand the master's commands through other signals besides direct star manipulation of the related charm(s). Thus, these minions are able to function via obeying their masters' very words or other pointers. This advancement removed much of the need for continual alteration of the charms in order to fit previously unseen and unexpected circumstances.

Miniamancy is currently widely used by spellcasters to carry out various everyday tasks that nevertheless are not wholly predictable.

[edit] Summoning

Summoning is the term that refers to creating a minion, in other words, setting the being so that it obeys. The being does not have to be a living one, and most often is not.

The opposite term is unsummoning, relinquishing control over the minion which soon then falls apart due to fallacies in its own logic.
