[edit] Magic Archetypes

The archetypal system was created by spellcasters after seeing the great variety of complexity that magic offered. They managed to find three distinct groups:

[edit] Spells

Spells are the most basic of the three archetypes of magic. Using the more "simplistic" starscripts, spellcasters can cause magic to occur in ways that they wish, but they are unable to set conditions to them, nor use logical command structures such as "if this is the case, I want this type of magic...".

[edit] Charms

The charms are the intermediate level, and may have all manner of complex logical statements for directing magic according to conditions and stimuli. Thus they are far more versatile than ordinary spells.

Casters are known as Charmcasters, though are also included into the more general Spellcasters.

[edit] Hexes

These are the highest level, and have nothing to do with bodily harm. Instead, it relates to bodily effects, much more often for good than bad. These are highly complex, as they involve arcanery that can prevent doing much damage to the body.

Casters are known as Spellcasters, Charmcasters, and the exclusive term Hexcasters.
