[edit] Colors of Magic

The colors of Lorica.

Lorica's sacred number is 9.

This system is thus useful for categorizing magic based on its purpose and effects. Note that colors adjacent to one another are related in certain ways.

  • Red: The so-called red magic focuses on healing, and includes most of the disciplines of the body, whether it be diagnosis, bodily repair, medicine, revivement, or ressurection.
  • Gold: Gold pertains to socially related magic, and focuses on personal interaction, deeds, trade, law, fortune, fame, honor, and wealth.
  • Emerald: Emerald magic covers the aspects of goods, capital equipment, buildings, and land, with emphasis on their production and maintanence. Covers part of the physics disciplines.
  • Green: Green magic differs from lemon as it specializes on casting spells and charms on those objects to improve their worth/value, at least to the owner. Covers part of the physics disciplines.
  • Teal: Teal magic focuses on the application of advancements toward growth and development, such as for new instruments, starscripts, and beings.
  • Blue: Blue commits magic to stratagems, tricks, and traps, and allows for technological and arcane advancements.
  • Purple: Purple directs magic toward the expansion and preservation of basic knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
  • Pink: Pink magic is useful for the aspects that have to do with the mind, including thought, the psyche, memory, behavior, and emotion.
  • White: Synergy.

Note that black, an absence, is not considered a color. But it is still used in the system to categorize magic that has the purpose of nullifying or preventing magic.

Note also, that there are some who believe that black, rather than white, is considered a color, as magic associated with black has its own effects distinct from others, while white is "merely" a combination of other magics.
