[edit] Chaos of the Gods Cycle

  • Nilo (combining both Orsinius and Viva) could shine its excessive power down upon the world. Orsinius, as he was kicking himself into Aether and imprisoning himself inside the largest Soulsphere, declared that he was happy, because (as the god of power and sacrifice) he knew that this had to be done, and would be conducive to the growth of the Midworld.
  • Scipios could only watch in dismay as Viva, imprisoned within Orsinius and hence the Archon the Sun, shone her life force across the Midworld while Orsinius shone his unharnessed power as well. As the two were in orbit, they cycled across the sky during the daytime and fell into the Underworld to complete their cycle at nighttime.
  • With Viva gone, Scipios now decided it was time to act, as the loss of his brother Bane was now balanced. He thus launched another war, this time a feud against Tyrael, the god of the light. Once again, the fighting reached far across the Overworld and the Underworld, but once again neither side could gain any advantage over the other, while the humans on the Midworld suffered from the ensuing cataclysmic devastation.
  • Zamn could not stand this imbalance, and with the only other god still remaining in the Two Planes, Zyr0, he forged an alliance to create another magical spell of cosmic proportions, entitled Schismize. It was capable of scattering the essential forces of any deities that it hit into an infinite number of isolated pieces. Zamn and Zyr0 subsequently used this spell just as Scipios and Tyrael were the least prepared to take this assault, and thus the Great Schism occurred. Both Scipios and Tyrael were 'schismated' into the Midworld.
  • Hence, mortals could now kill and cast magic, hence both a blessing and a curse for each and the other. In the aftermath, the only two gods left to fight for dominion of the Two Planes were Zamn and Zyr0.
  • In the end, the only cosmic forces left in the Overworld and the Underworld were that of Zamn and Zyr0. Zamn, the god of balance, would hold these two places in its possession forever, while Zyr0, realizing rather quickly that it would be too bored in these desolate planes, ceded possession of his dominion of the Overworld and the Underworld to Zamn in exchange for his blessing:
  • Zamn gave Zyr0 the ability to commune with humanity via gifting his spirit into peoples’ minds, much like possession. Thus, Zyr0 left for the Midworld, where he found a suitable carrier—-Horador-—and blessed him with the attribute of wit. Soon after, Horador united the disparate peoples of the stricken tribes, established a the first city, and initiated the beginning of mankind’s ascendency, the Dawning of Ages.
