The following are laws and policies of Sabin Middle School.

Laws of the School[]

A Act ascertaining to the Oaths of Staff and Officials within this School[]

Be it enacted by the Sabin School Staff and the Student Council of the Sabin Middle School Administration assembled, That the Constitution of Sabin Middle School thereof, requires, in all apporiate Purposes, within the third clause of the sixth Article, that every Student Councilor, Staff Member, School Official, Teacher, Assistant, etc. etc. thereby take a Oath or Affirmation, in order to assume the Execution of the Duties and Responsibilities of their Office; And that wince, The Constitution authorizes this Administration to outline such Oaths thereof, by Law, and to insure that such Oaths are executed. Therefore, the Administration hereby enacts the following Provisions:

1. And be it further enacted, That the following Oath or Affirmation be delivered by the Dean of the School to every Staff Member or Teacher, before they shall enter on the Execution of the Duties of their Office or Occupation:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute and carry out the Duties of Staff Member (or Teacher), within this honorable School, that I will accord to and enforce the Constitution in all matters, and that I shall not act in such a manner contrary to the Benefit of the Students."

When the Dean shall be unavailable to administer the above oath, the Oath shall be administered by the Vice Principal of Sabin Middle School, and in his absence, the Assistant Principal.

2. And be it further enacted, That the Vice Principal shall thereby take the following Oath or Affirmation, also to be delivered by the Dean of the School, at the Inauguration of the Principal thereof, after the Oath of the Principal:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the above-mentioned Constitution, that I will act in a orderly manner, and that I will insure this School a safe and beneficial learning Environment thereof."

When the Dean shall be unavailable to administer the above oath, the Oath shall be administered by the Counseling Coordinator of Sabin Middle School, and in his absence, the Social Worker of the Counseling Office.

3. And be it further enacted, That the Assistant Principal shall thereby take the following Oath or Affirmation, also to be delivered by the Dean of the School, at the Inauguration of the Principal thereof, after the Oaths of the Principal and Vice Principal:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute and carry out the Duties of my office, that I will observe and enforce the above-mentioned Constitution, and that I will strive to maintain the proper Discipline and Order within this School."

When the Dean shall be unavailable to administer the above oath, the Oath shall be administered by the Counseling Coordinator of Sabin Middle School, and in his absence, the Social Worker of the Counseling Office.

4. And be it further enacted, That the Dean of the School shall thereby take the following Oath or Affirmation, to be delivered by the Counseling Coordinator of the School, within five days after his Appointment by the Principal is confirmed by the two-thirds of the Staff of this Administration whereof:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute and enforce the Constitution and all other Laws, Policies, and Rules of this School and the District; that I will maintain the proper Discipline; and that I will act in a orderly and proper Manner pertaining to my Office whereof."

When the Counseling Coordinator shall be unavailable to administer the above oath, the Oath shall be administered by the Social Worker of the Counseling Office, and in his absence, the Head Secretary of the Main Office.

5. And be it further enacted, That all other Staff not explicitly mentioned above, including the Janitors, Cafeteria Staff, Security Officers, Discipline Councilors, and Librarians thereof, shall take the following Oath or Affirmation, to be delivered by the Dean of the School, within three days after their Appointment by the Principal is confirmed by the two-thirds required of the Staff of this Administration whereof:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm), that I will faithfully execute and enforce the Constitution and all other Laws, Policies and Rules of this School and the District; that I will faithfully execute the Duties of my Office (or Occupation); and that I shall act in a proper Manner ascertaining to my Office."

When the Dean shall be unavailable to administer the above oath, the Oath shall be administered by the Counseling Coordinator of Sabin Middle School, and in his absence, the Social Worker of the Counseling Office.

6. And be it further enacted, That all Officials, of the Several Teams whereof, shall take the following Oath or Affirmation, to be delivered by the Leader of that Team in which they shall be serving for, and that such Oath be administered the next Day after their Appointment by that Team Leader whereof:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School and of the Constitution of (Team name) whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm), that I will faithfully execute the Duties of my Office, that I will maintain the proper Respect, to both the School and my Team, and that I shall act in a proper Manner ascertaining to my Office."

When the Team Leader shall be unavailable to administer the above oath, the Oath shall be administered by the next highest-ranking Teacher or Official within that team thereof.

7. And be it further enacted, That all other Student Officials, Assistants, and such whereof shall thereby take the following Oath or Affirmation, to be delivered by the Head of the Office or Department to which they serve in, within a Day after their Selection by that Head whereof:

"I (first name, last name), hereby, in the name of the Constitution of Sabin Middle School whereof, do solemnly swear (or affirm), that I will faithfully execute the Duties of my Office, that I shall assist my Superiors in such a Manner to their Benefit, and that I shall abide by the Laws and Rules of this School."

When the Head of that Department or Office shall be unavailable to administer the above Oath, the Oath shall be administered by another Teacher or Official within that Department, according to the line of Precedence as shall be outlined in each Department by their Heads whereof.

A Act providing for the Establishment of the Class Schedule[]

Be it enacted by the Sabin School Staff and the Student Council of the Sabin Middle School Administration assembled, That all proper Schools require a daily classroom Schedule, to insure it's proper Functioning and to maintain the Conduct and orderly manner of the Students. That with such a Schedule established, no Confusion shall exist, and clarification shall be made. Thus this Administration therefore provides the following Provisions, for the benefit of this School:

1. And be it further enacted, The Schedules below shall be in normal Circumstances, to be followed in normal Circumstances, and to be maintained whereof. The times of Classes for Students shall be prescribed by the Teams persisting in the School thereof, as long as it shall not conflict this Schedule, and that each length of time for each Class shall be designated a Period:

Sixth Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 8:45-9:35.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 9:40-10:31.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 10:36-11:27.

The Lunch Period for the Sixth Grade shall take place between the times of 11:27-11:57.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 12:02-12:53.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 12:58-1:49.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 1:54-2:45; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 2:50-3:40.

Seventh Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 8:45-9:35.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 9:40-10:31.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 10:36-11:27.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 11:32-12:23.

The Lunch Period for the Seventh Grade shall take place between the times of 12:23-12:53.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 12:58-1:49.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 1:54-2:45; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 2:50-3:40.

Eighth Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 8:45-9:35.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 9:40-10:31.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 10:36-11:27.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 11:32-12:23.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 12:28-1:19.

The Lunch Period for the Eighth Grade shall take place between the times of 1:19-1:49.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 1:54-2:45; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 2:50-3:40.

For every five-minute time frame between the periods, the Students shall be allowed to perform a Visit to their Lockers, for the Purposes of picking up any School Materials, Supplies, etc which shall be needed for the following Period, and during the transition time between a Period of theirs and their Lunch Time, they shall be allowed to drop off their Supplies, if they wish, and pick up their Lunch, if they bring it from Home, or to perform any other proper Needs. During such transition time, the Students shall refrain from disorderly or harmful behavior.

2. And be it further enacted, The following Schedules shall be for Days in which the District shall order a Delay to the Start of the School Day which shall last for two Hours:

Sixth Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 10:45-11:19.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 11:24-11:57.

The Lunch Period for the Sixth Grade shall take place between the times of 11:57-12:27.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 12:32-1:05.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 1:10-1:43.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 1:48-2:21.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 2:26-2:59; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 3:04-3:40.

Seventh Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 10:45-11:19.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 11:24-11:57.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 12:02-12:35.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 12:40-1:13.

The Lunch Period for the Seventh Grade shall take place between the times of 1:13-1:43.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 1:48-2:21.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 2:26-2:59; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 3:04-3:40.

Eighth Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 10:45-11:19.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 11:24-11:57.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 12:02-12:35.

The Lunch Period for the Eighth Grade shall take place between the times of 12:35-1:05

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 1:10-1:43.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 1:48-2:21.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 2:26-2:59; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 3:04-3:40.

3. And be it further enacted, The following Schedules shall be for those Days in which the District shall decide to terminate the School Day two Hours earlier:

Sixth Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 8:45-9:19.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 9:24-9:58.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 10:03-10:37.

The Lunch Period for the Sixth Grade shall take place between the times of 10:37-11:06.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 11:11-11:45.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 11:50-12:24.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 12:28-1:02; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 1:06-1:40.

Seventh Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 8:45-9:19.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 9:24-9:58.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 10:03-10:37.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 10:42-11:16.

The Lunch Period for the Seventh Grade shall take place between the times of 11:16-11:46.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 11:50-12:24.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 12:28-1:02; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 1:06-1:40.

Eighth Grade Schedule:

The First Period shall take place between the times of 8:45-9:19.

The Second Period shall take place between the times of 9:24-9:58.

The Third Period shall take place between the times of 10:03-10:37.

The Fourth Period shall take place between the times of 10:42-11:16.

The Fifth Period shall take place between the times of 11:20-11:54.

The Lunch Period for the Seventh Grade shall take place between the times of 11:54-12:24.

The Sixth Period shall take place between the times of 12:28-1:02; And

The Seventh Period shall take place between the times of 1:06-1:40.

4. And be it further enacted, That every Quarter, each Student shall be randomly alloted their elective Classes, to be determined by Procedures which shall be issued by the Principal, with the approval of the Staff of this Administration whereof, and that such allocation shall take place during the period of the Summer Break.

5. And be it further enacted, That at the instigation of every School Year, on the first Day of such, the Main Office, or in other circumstances, the Counseling Office, shall provide scheduling Papers to Students, providing them information on the order and time of their Classes, the last name of their teachers, and the room number for each class. And that new Schedules be provided on the first day of every Quarter, in accordance with changes of the allocation amongst Students, of attendance in the Elective or Associate Classes. The Counseling Office shall correct any scheduling errors or conflications which may occur.

A Act providing for the Establishment of a Dress Code[]

Be it enacted by the Sabin School Staff and the Student Council of the Sabin School Administration assembled, That the Responsibility of a School is to provide for the Proper and Formal Education of the Student Population, in a appropriate and orderly Manner which maximizes such provision. And that whereof, for the provision of such Proper Education, the Students and Teachers must be dressed in a professional Manner, to encourage such Provision, and to make this School a Better and more Formal Place. Such Manner can only be ascertained by Law, to make sure Everything is provided for. Therefore, this Administration shall Provide, the following Provisions:

1. And be it further enacted, That beginning on the eighteenth Day of August, of the School Year forthcoming, and for forever after, the provisions of this Act shall be observed and enforced. The Principal of Sabin Middle School shall have the Power to punish any Violations of this Dress Code therein, in accordance with the Constitution, so far as such Enforcement not impede on the Proper Conduct of the Students. And that, Students in violation of the Code shall thereby be delivered up to the Main Office, and shall be required to change into proper Attire; the Dean shall thenceforth issue a Disciplinary Warning to the Student on that matter. The Student may also have Permission to return to their Living Place outside of the School, in order to Change; or their Parent may bring proper Attire for Change to the Office.

2. And be it further enacted, That the following attire, clothing, or style shall be prohibited within this School and it's surrounding Properties:

1. Short shirts, halters, midriffs, spandex, excessively torn clothing, net shirts, pajama bottoms, and sagging pants.

2. Tank tops, worn by either girls or boys.

3. Shirts that advertise, display, or promote drugs, alcohol, sexual activities or mannerisms, vulgar language, etc.

4. Excessive piercing and make-up.

5. Any type of clothing or form of appearance which presents gang, cult, or anti-social membership or activities.

6. Excessive Goth make-up and extreme, revealing forms of clothing.

7. Caps, hats, or sunglasses; this does not include regular reading glasses or eye glasses.

8. Any clothing which contains symbols or messages associated with criminal, delinquent, or anti-social conduct, including, but not limited to: prostitution, murder or robbery, any other crime or felon, the anti-Christ symbol, the anarchy symbol, etc.

9. Heavy backpacks or other large articles of clothing; however, Sixth Grade shall be permitted to have such.

3. And be it further enacted, That Teachers, Security Officers, Discipline Councilors, Librarians, Janitors, Cafeteria Staff, and all other Staff, shall have the Power to discipline and/or refer any Student who is any violation of the Above.

4. And be it further enacted, That shirts must be long enough to be tucked in; that shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh in length, and that belts be worn for pants, in order to avoid violation of the above.

An Act for the Basic Duties of the Main Office[]

Be it enacted by the Sabin School Staff and the Student Council of the Sabin Middle School Administration assembled, That, as provided for in this Schools' Honorable Constitution, there exists a Main Office, to perform such Duties as shall be Necessary to assist this Administration and to help govern the School, and to serve as the Executive Office for the Principal of Sabin Middle School. But wince, however, the powers of this Office have not been ascertained, and as such, the Administration shall do so in the following Provisions:

1. And be it further enacted, That the Main Office shall serve as the Executive Office of the Principal of Sabin Middle School, to conduct the following Duties in such Function:

1) To prepare, publish, and execute all Orders and Policies issued by the Principal, with the Concurrence of two thirds of the bodies of this Administration, and to insure that such Orders are followed by the other Officers within this School.

2) To attend to the Principal's needs, namely to serve as assistants, to help execute the Principal's policies, and to serve as a Principal's Staff, with such Duties as shall be proper to that Position, and which may be further detailed by Law.

3) To execute all responsibilities pertaining to a Office of a Administrator or Official, as long as such Duties remain in accordance with the Constitution and with this Law, and other Laws which shall therefore be made and executed.

2. And be it further enacted, That the Main Office shall thenceforth, in the Months of October, February, and May of each School Year thereunto, issue and publish across the School a Newsletter, by which to carry news pertaining to the School's Operations, as well as lists of the members of the Faculty Staff of this School thereof, to Advertisements and News of the District, to Laws of the School and the District, and other such Features thereunto.

3. And be it further enacted, That the Principal shall have the Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Administration, to issue Administrative Policies which further go into detail on the duties and powers of the Main Office, with respect to this Administration and the honorable Constitution.

An Act for the Provision of the System of Referrals[]

Be it enacted by the Sabin School Staff and the Student Council of the Sabin Middle School Administration assembled, That the Constitution of Sabin Middle School thereunto provides Authorization for a System of Referrals, which is to be divided into four Corresponding Levels, and to consist of such Methods by which a Teacher may refer a disorderly or disrespectful Student to the Office, for such Punishment as the Administration is authorized to ascertain by Law. And as such, to insure the proper Interpretation of the System of Referrals, and to accord to the Constitutional mandate, the Administration thereby provides for the following Provisions, to wit:

1) And be it further enacted, That the following disorderly or rude actions of a Student shall accord to a Infraction of the first Level of the System of Referrals, and shall thereby be subject to Punishment on that Level:

  • Unexcused or unacceptable absences or tardies
  • Altering or tampering with classroom, team, or teacher records
  • Misconduct, disrespect, or misbehavior at school assemblies, meetings, organizations, etc
  • Misconduct, disrespect, or misbehavior in the cafeteria or on the school grounds
  • Dishonesty towards the Teachers, other Staff or Students
  • Gambling or illegal betting activities
  • Misconduct in the hallway, bathrooms, etc
  • Violations of the dress code, as provided in the Act for the Establishment of a Dress Code; inappropriate and unacceptable personal hygiene
  • Inappropriate or unacceptable public display of affection
  • Insubordination or failure to follow given directions
  • Littering
  • Abusive or curse language against Teachers, Staff, or other Students
  • Other conduct which is not beneficial to a School Environment

The Teacher or other Staff Member in the Area where the Infraction happened shall either administer on site Punishment or issue a Referral, a statement which shall include the student's name, id number, as well as information on the infraction and recommendations for punishment and future management.

The following Punishments shall occur on the first Level of the System of Referrals:

  • School contact with the Subject's parents or guardians
  • Detention before, during, or after school
  • Janitorial or assistant duties in the School; or a extra assignment for no credit
  • Referral to a counselor, social worker, or psychologist
  • Verbal warning and reprimand by any Staff Member, the Dean, or any Discipline Counselor

2) And be it further enacted, That the following disorderly or rude actions of a Student shall accord to a Infraction of the second Level of the System of Referrals, and shall thereby be subject to Punishment on that Level:

  • Flagrant or repeated first Level infractions or violations, as described above
  • Altering the records of the School or this Administration
  • Failure to complete a assignment assigned as a disciplinary measure
  • Threatening or imitating other Students or Teachers
  • Theft
  • Leaving the school grounds without permission during the school day
  • Harassing other Students or Teachers
  • Causing damage or otherwise defacing school property
  • Misconduct on district buses or transportation
  • Possession of fireworks, smoke bombs, or other such weapons
  • Physical confrontations or engagements, those not within the bounds of Great Disruptions as addressed in Article Three of the Constitution
  • Possession of tobacco products on school property
  • Unexcused or unacceptable absence from school; truancy or tardiness
  • Possession or distribution of non-curricular materials that are obscene, libelous, slanderous, or defamatory; material that stereotypes or is racially provocative
  • Possession or use of alcohol or illegal substances
  • Inadvertently or accidentally carrying, bringing, or possessing a standard weapon on school grounds
  • Other actions which are grounds for suspension; actions which harms other Students and Teachers, or interference with the proper Learning Environment
