• Japan becomes more independent from the US and creates the Japanese Armed Forces, The first time the Japanese has had a military capable of operating beyond borders since World War II.

• The United Russian Party-controlled Government of Russia publicly states that it accepts the new Japanese Armed Forces and will not plead to the UN for action. The Communist Party changes it's policy on relations with Japan, stating it does not believe Japan should be allowed to form a fully functional Military. Popularity of the Communist Party increases significantly over the year.

• Russian Presidential Elections: The Communist Party demands a recount as it is announced that the United Russian Party wins by a mere 30%, 2% over the Communist 28%. Official's recount and state that the Communist Party won at 31%. as Mikhail Putnov, the Communist Party Candidate, is about to be sworn in at Kremlin Square he is assassinated by sniper fire. Riots caused by communist supporters erupt and the Communist Party demands to be allowed to bring forth another candidate. The sniper is caught by police and is killed by a passing group of rioting communist's. when Vladimir Putnov, brother of Mikhail Putnov and runner-up for Communist Party Candidacy, is sworn in the next morning riots begin to die. The entire event is dubbed The Night Long Riot.

• The Valles Marineris (Mariner Valley) Colony on Mars is established by the United Nations Space Colonial Association.

• The UN forms the Mars Occupation Force in response to the increasing problems with Mars. It is made up of the strongest Military Countries including the United States of America, Russian Federation, Peoples Republic of China, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom

• Rebel Forces on Mars attack a MOF Patrol and takes control of their weapons storage declaring war on MOF. Rebel factions spring up overnight uniting under the name Mars Freedom Army (MFA).

• The Ragtag forces of the MFA defeat the MOF at the battle of Mariner Bay. Historian will later refer to the Mars Rebellion as reminiscent of the American Revolution.

• The Long Peace starts. After the embarrassing defeat on Mars, all but the most unstable of nations in places like Africa go into a time of neutrality and not a single major war is fought.

• China test fires a new missile which "accidentally" lands outside of Kyoto. Japan takes this as an act of war and begin invasion starting the Third Sino-Japanese War.

• Russia forms a Peace Pact with China and joins in the Third SJ War.

• The Prime Minister of Israel is assassinated by Iranian Terrorist. Iran refuse to apologize . Israel engages in open warfare with Iran.

• Pakistan engages in war with India over captured troops who were not returned.

• Thus begins the Third World War. everyone fears the use of nuclear missiles.

• Israeli Sympathizers, furious with the US and the UK for not engaging in Israel-Iran War, Assassinate the Vice President of the USA. The assassination is falsely traced to an Iranian Militant and so the US and her UN allies engage against Iran.

• Russia signs a Peace Pact with Iran but does not engage against Israel.

• Japan pleads for assistance in the 3rdSJ War and the US responds bringing into part of the Third World War.

• The UK also assists their ally India against Pakistan

• People flock to Mars in fear of Nuclear Warfare.

• Mars begins Terraformation.
