Statue of liberty

Lady Liberty

Here I stand, in this green gown,
And I listen; I listen to the crashing waves.
All around me, there’s foam from the sea
Thrashing now on top of me.

I have my torch in my left hand,
The Bible in my right,
I stare straight ahead, afraid to move,
For if I do, I’ll fall down into the depths.

Long Island is my home,
I stand and greet the ships.
Because I’m anchored, I’m not free,
But yes, I am Lady Liberty!
