As I was walking down my avenue
I saw a bird perched on the tree
I was ready to collect revenue
When I stopped to see
A poor man stumbled onto the sidewalk
To find his lost son
As he came to me to talk
I found he was a lost one
This man wishes for the eternal return
The finding of his kin
He feels his deep concern
His son left because of his sin
As I felt sorrow for the man
I heard that he was nine
I said, "I'll do whatever I can"
And him I went to find
Cornered by the dangers of gangs
Confronted by the peril of the streets
I felt so scared I sang
and crime took a seat
I wish for the Eternal return
The man's own lost kin
I felt powerful concern
As the man was scared of his own sin
