Dwarves stand at little over four feet in height. There appearance is usually rough, having (for the most part) dark hair, dark eyes, lots of hair, a very big forehead, and quite long arms. Dwarvish womabn are known to grow beards (or begin to) far more frequently than other humans.

Dwarves are descendants of Arg the Sturdy, a renegade elf who lived around 2800 A.B., but they bear no resemblance to elves, as they lost much height and sharpness of eyes through intermarrying. They tend to set up underground kingdoms, and have been known for their distaste of "the over-bright lands of above". They mostly live on Baarn, having very little to do with sea fearers or seafearing. They are classically portayed as being excellent with metal, but a standard dwarf is adept in many different kinds of craft, not just smithery.
