Fantasy ImmersionFantasy Immersion is by far the most popular form of entertainment in Aethyrbridge. Utilizing datajack input, coupled with a device, usually of the nanotech variety, to create a full sensual fantasy experience that is indistinguishable from reality. There are several levels of fantasy immersion, including memcells, fabcells, and fantasy immersion suites. Memcells are (mostly) illegal. They are designed to recreate a memory experience from another person. There are a few corporate and government-sanctioned Memcells, but most recordings are bought and sold on the black market. Fabcells are much more mass-produced, and offer a wide variety of linear-path fantasy immersion, in which you have little to no control over the subject character of the Fabcell. Scattered throughout the city, particularly in Maer Plaza, are a series of Fantasy Immersion Suites, each devoted to a particular style of fantasy. FIS Immersion results in the user entering a fully interactive, nonlinear fantasy world. However, many epic immersions can take up to two weeks of real time. Fantasy Immersion Suites offer a nearly endless supply of fantasies, and immigrants have chosen it as their main source of entertainment. |
